For renters
Furniture that fits your rental, and moves with you.
Shelves wall to wall, a wardrobe up to the ceiling, a desk in the awkward corner. Freestanding, screwed together so it comes apart, and made to the millimetre for the flat you live in now.
Sound familiar?
- 01
Nothing fits the flat.
Rentals come with alcoves, sloping ceilings and radiators in the wrong place. Flat-pack leaves gaps, and built-ins mean screwing into walls you don't own.
- 02
Your deposit is on the line.
Every hole and every scratch can come out of the deposit, and plenty of landlords say no to fixing anything to the walls.
- 03
Flat-pack doesn't survive the move.
Cam locks loosen and particleboard crumbles after a move or two. You end up buying the same wardrobe again for every flat.
Picture the rental that finally feels like home: shelves wall to wall, a wardrobe up to the ceiling, and nothing screwed into the walls, that comes with you when you move.
How Caminu helps
Everything between the idea and the first cut.

Spaces
Plan it in this flat, and the next
Rebuild the room from a few phone photos and design the piece where it will stand. When you move, rebuild the new room and see where your furniture goes before the van arrives.

Design
Ask for freestanding
Say it has to stand on its own and come apart, and the design follows: a stable base, a back that keeps it square, and screws you can undo. No CAD to learn.

Cut lists
No workshop needed
Have the panels cut where you buy them, from your cut list. You bring home parts ready to drill, and the neighbours never hear a saw.

Assembly
Built with a drill, taken apart with one
The guide takes you through every step, and every screw it uses comes out again. On moving day, work back from the last page.

How it works
Four steps, start to finish.
- 1
Photograph the room
A few photos from the corners and the size of the floor.
- 2
Describe the piece
Where it goes, what it holds, and that nothing gets screwed to the walls.
- 3
Get the plans
A cut list to take to the merchant and a guide made for your piece.
- 4
Build it, take it with you
Assemble it with a drill, and take it apart the same way when you move.

Questions
Renters, answered.
Can I build tall furniture without drilling into the walls?
A freestanding piece stands on its own, but anything tall still needs an anti-tip fixing in case someone pulls on it or climbs it. That is usually one small screw into the wall, which most landlords allow when asked, and the hole fills in minutes when you leave.
Will it fit my next flat?
Rebuild the new room in Caminu and see where each piece goes. If something needs to change, change the measurements and you get a new plan; often only a few panels are different.
Can I take it apart for moving?
Yes. The plans use screws and fittings that come out again, so a bookcase or wardrobe goes back to flat panels for the van.
Do I need a workshop or a saw?
No. Most timber merchants and DIY stores cut sheet material to your cut list. Assembly needs a drill-driver, a square and some floor space.
Can I build floor-to-ceiling without fixing it?
Make it freestanding and a little shorter than the ceiling, with a fitted top panel that closes the gap. It looks built in, and still needs its anti-tip fixing.
